Recognizing Gynecologic Tumors

Gynecologic Pathology focuses on lesions occurring in the female genital system, including classification guidelines, revised terminology and diagnostic pearls. Lectures and microscopy sessions are organized by anatomic location and type of diagnosis: inflammatory, neoplastic, low grade, high grade. Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this CME activity, the participant will be able to:

– Recognize the histologic types of endometrial carcinoma

– Recognize the main mesenchymal tumors of the uterus and the most useful ancillary tests for diagnosis

– Diagnose precursor lesions of serous carcinogenesis in the fallopian tube

– Distinguish between clear cell, endometrioid and serous carcinomas of the ovary

– Be familiar with germ cell and sex cord stromal tumors of the ovary

– Navigate through the main diagnostic challenges in placental pathology
