LEARNING OBJECTIVES

At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be better able to:

• Recommend the correct antibiotic for pneumonia, sinusitis, otitis media, et cetera. For example, the guidelines on the management of sinusitis from the American Society of Otolaryngology will be reviewed. Avoidance of incorrect antibiotic prescription will be stressed
• Differentiate among the common causes of cough
• Evaluate the cause of a seizure
• Recognize and treat dementia
• Arrange appropriate evaluation and treatment for hypertension
• Describe the management of hypercholesterolemia
• Identify the best prevention and therapy for obesity
• Choose the proper screening for breast cancer, colon cancer, lung cancer, etc
• Analyze the cause of incontinence
• Categorize common pediatric orthopedic conditions

Target Audience: This activity is intended for family physicians, general practitioners, emergency department physicians, certified registered nurse practitioners, physician assistants, pharmDs, geriatricians, internists, primary care physicians, and obstetrician / gynecologists.
